Buttock implants use cohesive silicone prostheses placed within the gluteus maximus muscle to permanently increase volume. The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) injects fat harvested from elsewhere on the body. Implants are indicated when the patient has little fat available for harvesting or desires greater volume. Both techniques can be combined.
Where is the scar after buttock augmentation with implants?+
The incision is made in the intergluteal crease (the fold between the two buttocks), keeping it completely hidden. It is not visible from the front or the back when the patient is standing.
Can I sit normally after surgery?+
For the first 2 to 3 weeks, prolonged sitting is discouraged to avoid compressing the implants while they heal. Lying on the stomach or on the side is preferred. A full return to normal activities takes place progressively over 4 to 6 weeks.
Are the results permanent?+
