Breast reduction may be covered by the Assurance Maladie when the following criteria are met:
- Planned resection of at least 300 g per breast
- Documented breast hypertrophy with functional symptoms (back pain, neck pain, inframammary skin lesions)
- Prior agreement from the CPAM (French health insurance fund)
If coverage is granted, the Assurance Maladie reimburses the base rate. A surgeon's fee supplement may remain payable; this is partially covered by complementary health insurance depending on your policy. Dr. de Clermont-Tonnerre will guide you in preparing the file at the consultation.
Expected Results
Breast reduction delivers immediate and lasting results. Relief from pain is perceptible within the first few weeks. The silhouette is reshaped, with smaller, firmer, better-positioned breasts.
The definitive result is reached at 6 months, once scarring has fully matured. Maintaining a stable weight is recommended to preserve the outcome. Patient satisfaction with this procedure is very high.
